Conductor in the playground
If something new is to emerge, it always comes with uncertainty. Space is needed to create since there is still a long way to go. During the developing process, ideas and questions alternate with attempts, failures, and senses of achievement. They form a circle that demands maximum attention and flexibility.
Once you are ready to indulge in these demands, spectacular can result because it allows being the conductor in the playground. This is a fantastic place without borders and judges. As it offers room to test yourself, fail, and start again, you can go on trying until things finally work out.
I was walking around Rome in August 2021 when I stumbled over the workshop of the sculptor Gabriele Levy. I was lucky that he kindly invited me to see his studio in the basement of the building which is in a scenic street of the eternal city.
